Ngong-Kajiado County, Kenya – 1 December 2025.
Consolation East Africa joined partners, government departments, health providers and community members for the annual World AIDS Day commemoration held at Ngong Stadium. The event brought together diverse stakeholders to reflect on progress made, confront persistent gaps and strengthen collective action toward ending HIV as a public health threat.
This year’s global theme highlighted the critical role of communities in prevention, care, advocacy and resilience. The event emphasized community-led responses, local ownership, and inclusive programming that reaches people at the highest risk, including adolescents, young women, persons with disabilities and informal settlement communities. The event was very well and beautifully coordinated; since the youths were at the core of the year’s theme: there was fashion show, tree planting, Medical check ups, football and sporting activities.
CEA reaffirmed its dedication to preventive work, especially through programs addressing harmful practices, child protection, mental health and community empowerment. The organization continues to support local systems that ensure children, adolescents and vulnerable families can access safe, dignified and inclusive services.
As the world reflects on the progress made against HIV, and the changing funding geographics that affexts the global health architecture, CEA remains committed to long-term collaboration with communities, government partners and civil society. The 2025 commemoration served as a reminder that the goal of ending AIDS is achievable when communities lead, voices are amplified and support systems remain strong.
