Consolation is concerned about the plight of the physically, hearing and visually impaired. We continue strengthening relationships with the disability organizations to ensure that the disabled are mainstreamed in the society and their rights respected.

Currently CEA partners with the Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB) and the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) to strengthen advocacy for the disabled in the country. Some of the Practical dimensions of the work include:

• CEA is part of the advisory board of the KSB
• Popularizing the White Cane Day
• Sensitizing the society through the artistic performance (the big story)
• Conducting a community led surveillance to identify on-going concerns within the disabled community
• Advocating to ensure that identified issues are addressed or given attention
