CEA addressed the gender based violence in all its various forms. Gender-based violence (GBV) mainly plagues girls and women in Kenya and is a threat to them regardless of their age, or socioeconomic status. And they are at risk everywhere and anywhere — at work, at school, and at home.
In addressing GBV CEA intervenes in the following ways:
- Providing GBV prevention sensitization focused on likely victims and perpetrators
- Addressing cultural and gender norms that perpetuate GBV
- Post GBV counselling
- Referral to appropriate care institutions
