During the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, NAHUSOM and its partners convened a powerful advocacy forum on 9th December 2025 at Our Lady Queen of Peace, South B, under the theme “Together Against Violence and Trafficking: Every Life Matters – Standing for Safety, Justice, and Freedom for All.”
The most impactful moments of the event were the testimonies shared by survivors of human trafficking. Their stories deeply moved participants and clearly demonstrated how GBV is both a driver and a consequence of trafficking. Survivors spoke of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, highlighting the urgent need for survivor-centered prevention and response systems.
The forum also reflected strong intergenerational partnership, with youth leading coordination while elders provided guidance. This collaboration strengthened dialogue during the plenary discussions and reinforced collective responsibility in addressing GBV and trafficking.
Partners present included CHTEA, Talitha Kum, Candle of Hope, ANPPCAN, CDTD, Consolation, the Survivors Network, and other NAHUSOM member organizations, demonstrating broad solidarity and commitment to the cause.
As the event concluded, participants reaffirmed that the 16 Days of Activism is more than a campaign; it is a call to sustained action. NAHUSOM and its members remain committed to amplifying survivor voices and working toward a Kenya free from violence, exploitation, and abuse.
