The celebrations for IWD were held in Kiserian at the Catholic church on 7th March 2025. The theme for this year was: For all women and girls: Equality, Rights, Empowerment.
The event started at 9:30 with registration and an opening prayer from the Deacon. We then later went for a procession in Kiserian as the 1st activity and an opening remarks from the director of Gender Kajiado. Then followed entertainment, including skits, poems, choir, and rapping music, which were all directed to celebrating women and ending GBV. After entertainment was partner recognition, and a part from the government, other partners were as follows: CEA, A pack a month, FODAJ, She leads, etc. Among partner organizations were also the Huduma Center, who assisted people in the use of e-citizen where Victor managed to apply for his good conduct. Equity Bank opened bank accounts for people and offered monetary advice, and the Ministry of Health opened SHA accounts and later offered reproductive health talk.





Their were speeches from community representatives, the planning committee, and other dignitaries. Mweshimiwa Olentaro welcomed the guest of Honor H.E. Edna Lenku, who spoke about women’s rights. She said she wanted that we all embrace women’s equality and let women stand for themselves. Then the event was followed by giving a certificate to partners for appreciation for making the event possible, for which CEA was also awarded. A cake was cut to commemorate the event
