Climbing for Inclusion: CEA and KSB Summit Mt. Longonot for Visually Impaired Learners

On September 20th, Consolation East Africa (CEA) joined forces with the Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB) to conquer the trails of Mt. Longonot. The joint charity hike focused on a single shared objective: raising educational resources for visually impaired learners across Kenya.

Bridging the Educational Gap

Access to quality education remains a significant challenge for students with visual impairments. Traditional learning materials often leave these learners behind without adapted tools. CEA and KSB partnered on this initiative to expand access to essential learning equipment, including:

  • Braille Reading Materials & Assistive Devices: Books and devices that enable independent study and literacy.
  • Adaptive Learning Technology: Specialized software and digital readers tailored for visual accessibility.
  • Inclusive Classroom Resources: Supporting integrated learning environments where visually impaired students can thrive alongside their peers.

Walking the Talk for Equal Learning

Every step taken along the Mt. Longonot crater rim represented a commitment to breaking down educational barriers. CEA believes education is a fundamental human right, and creating inclusive learning spaces requires collective effort and deliberate investment.

CEA thanks every team member, donor, and partner who made the day a success. Together with KSB, we remain committed to empowering every learner to reach their full potential, regardless of sight.
