Global Youth-Led Movement on Ending Violence Against Children (EVAC)

The Global Youth-Led Movement on Ending Violence Against Children (EVAC), a six-month initiative powered by Restless Development, concluded its second phase with a high-level National Youth Dialogue in Nairobi. This project has been instrumental in amplifying youth voices across Nairobi, Kajiado, Kisumu, and Busia, focusing on critical issues such as sexual violence, domestic abuse, and corporal punishment.

As a key partner in the movement, Consolation East Africa (CEA) was represented by our Executive Director, Victor Adula, who led a session on the vital role of youth in child protection and shared CEA’s ongoing initiatives supporting youth and children. The dialogue brought together diverse stakeholders, including:

  • Government Representatives: The State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy and the State Department for Children Welfare Services.
  • Civil Society & Partners: Representatives from LEK (Linda Elimisha Kike), ANPPCAN, and local children’s department offices from Kajiado and Dandora.
  • Youth Leaders: Regional chapters and youth mobilizers who have spent the last half-year establishing EVAC clubs in schools and leading community outreach.

Through interactive panel discussions and youth-led sessions, the event reinforced a collective commitment to creating a safer, more inclusive environment for children across Kenya.
