Celebrating the International Day For Street Children at Kibera -Walakolo

Consolation East Africa (CEA) was honored to join hands with local leaders, community organizations, and residents to mark the International Day for Street Children at Kibera Walakolo. The event focused on raising awareness of the struggles faced by street children, promoting their rights, and encouraging community-led solutions. Through powerful speeches, including testimony from a local health volunteer, key challenges were highlighted—especially the need for consistent access to healthcare and essential services. CEA shared its contributions to the Walakolo community through the Afya Yangu health project, the YCA youth empowerment program, and the Business Games Training, all of which continue to create positive impact.

Lively performances by local youth brought energy and joy to the day, while the distribution of clothing, food, and hygiene supplies brought relief to many in attendance. The event reinforced the importance of unity in addressing the needs of street children and emphasized the power of local partnerships in creating lasting change. CEA remains committed to walking with the Walakolo community and advocating for the rights and dignity of all children.
