Consolation East Africa (CEA), in collaboration with the Forum for Women Organization, government representatives, and members of the legal fraternity, recently convened a critical workshop aimed at addressing gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders to contribute insights toward the development of a memorandum focused on GBV and femicide. Through comprehensive discussions, participants assessed current policies and legal frameworks, identified gaps, and developed recommendations to enhance the national response to these pressing issues. This initiative forms part of a broader effort to advocate for stronger, more effective policy, legal, and institutional mechanisms to combat GBV and ensure justice for survivors. The collaborative dialogue emphasized the importance of coordinated, multi-sectoral action in the fight against GBV and femicide. CEA remains committed to promoting human dignity, social justice, and systemic change through informed advocacy and community engagement.
