Faith in Action — CEA and Local Church Forge a Path for Community Wellbeing

At Consolation East Africa (CEA), we believe that strong communities are built through unity, shared values, and partnerships. On May 7, 2025, our office in Ngong became the setting for a powerful conversation between CEA and Pastor Melitus from the local church—a conversation that could reshape how we address pressing social issues in our community.
Why This Meeting Mattered:
We came together to address some hard truths: youth in our communities are being exploited, mental health issues are rising, families are struggling, and substance abuse is growing rampant. But in the midst of these challenges, there’s hope—hope rooted in collaboration.
Key Priorities That Emerged

Together, we identified urgent areas needing action:
Human Trafficking: Vulnerable youth and elders are being targeted and exploited.
Mental Health: There’s a gap in awareness and support, especially for young people.
Substance Abuse & Crime: Youth are being manipulated into criminal activities for money.

Who We’re Focusing On:

Parents — They are the first line of defense and value transmission.
Youth — They need mentorship, skills, and safe spaces to grow.

The Power of Partnership:
This wasn’t just a brainstorming session. It was a commitment to do more—through local churches, the MCA, and other grassroots actors. The church pledged to take the lead in reaching other faith leaders and organizing a follow-up with the MCA.

What’s Next?
Here’s what we agreed on:
Co-develop partnership proposals between churches, CEA, and political leaders.
Launch awareness campaigns on trafficking, mental health, and drugs.
Start mentorship and life skills programs for youth.
Set a date for our next meeting to finalize timelines and responsibilities.

A Shared Commitment:
As Pastor Melitus said, “This is more than faith—it’s about action. It’s about standing in the gap for our youth and families.”
