Consolation: East Africa Champions Safe Spaces for Children
On 28th February 2026, Consolation East Africa (CEA) joined partners, community members, and child protection advocates at Ngong Forest Sanctuary for the Safe Spaces for Children Charity Fun Walk & Cheer, a vibrant event dedicated to advancing the safety, well-being, and protection of children in Ngong.
The event brought together a diverse network of organizations and individuals united by a shared purpose (led by Enkarai Sidai): to raise resources to continue the construction of the child protection unit in Ngong. The CPU will be a safe and a protective environment where children (who are in and not in conflict with the law) can get shelter before immediate assistance. The event had activities such as the fun walk, vulnerability circles, water relays, and creative engagement sessions, participants were reminded that child protection is not just policy; it is a collective responsibility that requires visible, consistent action.
Consolation East Africa’s participation reflected its ongoing commitment to community-driven approaches to child protection. Through these engagements, the organization keeps highlighting the importance of safe spaces and encourages collaboration among stakeholders who also care about protecting children’s rights and dignity.
We were honored to stand alongside partners who share one conviction:
Every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and protective environment to grow, learn, and thrive.
