Kiserian Town, Kajiado West | 6 December 2025
As part of build-up activities toward the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, Consolation served on the steering committee of a GBV sensitization walk held in Kiserian Town, Kajiado West Constituency. The initiative brought together 14 civil society and community organizations committed to raising awareness, amplifying survivor voices, and strengthening community response systems.
The sensitization walk engaged community members across Kiserian—including casual laborers, market vendors, commuters, and shoppers—through direct conversations on GBV prevention, reporting mechanisms, and collective responsibility. By engaging people in their everyday spaces, the activity ensured that GBV prevention messages were practical, relatable, and action-oriented.
The walk concluded at Kiserian Police Station, where partner organizations jointly donated essential items to the GBV Survivors Unit, including beds and bedding, sanitary pads, soap, basins, and tissues. The donation aimed to strengthen the capacity of local institutions to provide survivors with dignified and compassionate care.
This build-up activity demonstrated the power of collaboration in addressing GBV and set the tone for continued advocacy during the 16 Days of Activism. Consolation remains committed to survivor-centered, community-led approaches that promote safety, dignity, and justice.
