Kitengela-Kajiado County, Kenya – 10 December 2025.
Consolation East Africa joined county leadership, civil society partners, and community members in commemorating the final day of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, held in Kajiado County. The event was highlighted by the official launch of the Kajiado County Gender-Based Violence Response and Prevention Policy 2025, presided over by the First Wife, Her Excellency Edna Lenku.
The launch of the new GBV Policy represents a significant milestone for Kajiado County. The policy outlines a comprehensive framework to guide prevention, response, coordination, and accountability across all county structures. It seeks to strengthen systems that protect women, men, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups affected by violence.
While the 16 Days of Activism campaign concluded with the launch of the policy, Consolation East Africa reaffirmed its long-term dedication to supporting county efforts aimed at ending gender-based violence. The organization will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the policy’s strategies translate into real, sustained change for survivors and at-risk populations.
