UPR is a ‘peer-review’ process where States review each other and get recommendations from their peers. The review takes the form of an interactive dialogue held between the State under review and the Member and Observer States of the Human Rights Council.
Consolation was part of a capacity building for CSOs by the UPR child rights and Human trafficking clusters. The UPR process was held on te week of 3rd to 7th June 2024.

The trainings was on the evolution of the UPR and its treaties. The aim of the training was to assist CSOs understand the UPR process so that we can participate and engage meaningfully in the drafting of the UPR which will be submitted in Geneva in September. Through understanding the UPR and its stages, we engaged in discussing and developing draft recommendations that align with the issues affecting the clusters.
